Rheo Knee Improves Gait, Stability, and Efficiency
Rheo Knee by Ossur
The new Rheo Knee, an intelligent knee, capable of programming itself and using a magnetic fluid to control the knee’s motion, promises to offer increased responsiveness, improved gait dynamics, and decreased maintenance.

Ossur’s new Rheo Knee is “the first artificially intelligent knee system that has the ability to learn and adapt to its user’s movements, resulting in a continually improved and optimized performance.”

The Rheo Knee does not require programming. It compiles information about the wearer’s movements and programs itself. However, a set-up mode does allow a prosthetic practitioner to fine tune parameters.

A lithium ion battery lasts up to 48 hours without recharging and a power switch allows the user to conserve the battery when it is not in use. Recharging time is from two to four hours.

Contact Ossur at www.ossur.com for more information.

Lamination Lock Has Strong Suspension

The Alpha® Lamination Lock is a small, lightweight suspension solution that provides amputees with locking liners surprisingly strong suspension.

Lamination LockThe secret to its strong, airtight fit is the inclusion of a pin seal that seals off the socket. Two pins are included with each lock for extra value. The Lamination Lock also incorporates an attachment plate that, when used in a two-step lamination process, allows for various angle options to be used to optimize foot alignment. No longer does the shuttle lock dictate alignment, which helps ensure maximum amputee functionality and stability!
