Ability Ski Team Assistant Coach |

Alpine Head Coach |
Job Overview: |
Responsible for Coaching on and off the hill. Supporting the head coach and each athlete to achieve their goals and the goals of the Alpine ski Team.
|
Job Description |
Team Coordination:
|
· Manage and support athlete training sessions on and off the hill.
· Coach on the hill a minimum of 20 hours per week during the ski season.
· Assist Head Coach in achieving the goals of the NAC for the ability ski team.
· Share responsibility with athletes to care for and maintain their equipment.
· Travel to competitions as support staff for team and athletes.
· Work with the other teams, coaches and organizers as an NAC ambassador.
· Attend team meetings and foster open communication among team members.
· Participate in “coaches connection” meetings and continuing education to improve knowledge of the sport and coaching ability.
· Implement sport specific risk management plan.

Administration: |
· Attend weekly one on one meeting with Head coach.
· Communicate directly with team athletes.
· Record athlete participation statistics
· Fill out incident/near miss reports when needed
· Contribute to the development of annual written goals for the next season each April.
· Management and evaluation of volunteer helpers, including athlete parents.
· Provide input regarding equipment and uniform needs of the team to the head coach. |
Public Relations: |
· Ensure that athletes are ready for podium and press appearances. |
Qualifications: |
· PSIA level II or USSCA coaching level I00
· Strong communication skills
· Basic understanding of physical disabilities, the specific performance ramifications and health considerations of each.
· Knowledge of adaptive techniques and equipment are required
· Current CPR and First Aid
