Job Description:
Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra (a non-profit adaptive Sports School at the Main Lodge at Mammoth Mountain) is looking for interns to be involved with all aspects of the winter program including teaching ski and/or snowboard lessons, program planning and implementation, fundraising events, equipment maintenance and miscellaneous office duties and projects. A passion for fun and working with people with disabilities in a winter environment is a prerequisite for this position. Good verbal communication skills are a must.
This position includes weekends and holidays during the winter season (approximately November – April)
Job Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent, college degree or in process of degree.
- Skiing and/or snowboarding skills to at least a strong intermediate level.
- Experience teaching adaptive sports.
- Patience and good interpersonal skills for student and parent interaction necessary.
- Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Adaptive certification desired.
